Pembroke- Gary Lewis Jenkins, age 73, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at his home while under the care of his family and Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mr. Jenkins was born in Washington D.C. to the late Roger “Buck” Jenkins and Louise Clever Jenkins. Gary was a machinist and welder. He retired from Express Packaging in Pembroke as a maintenance manager with 35 years of service. Mr. Gary was a very compassionate and friendly person. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR; but mostly enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Gary could often be found at the ballfield or a dance recital supporting his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Erin and Clint Sheppard of Sylvania and Jennifer and Jimmy Grubbs of Pembroke; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Juanita Jenkins of Pembroke; grandchildren, Bri Grubbs, Chloe Sheppard, Elijah Grubbs, Everlee Redmond, Isabella Sheppard, Adaline Redmond, Emmalee Grubbs, Hadley Sheppard and Emersyn Grubbs; one great granddaughter, Remi; special niece, Leslie Rogers and her husband, David; great niece and nephew, Noah and Grace Elizabeth Rogers and numerous special cousins.

Visitation will be held at 10 A.M. until Noon on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at Noon on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Wade McElveen and Rev. Clint Sheppard officiating.

Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Evans County.

Active pallbearers will be Elijah Grubbs, Jimmy Grubbs, Noah Rogers, Mike Jenkins, Allen Jenkins, David Kinard and David Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Victor, Danny Bragg, Mike Reardon, Bubba Reardon, Fred Ruarks, Edward Beasley, Jimmy Jenkins, Benny Jenkins, Aaron Barnard, Henry Quattlebaum, Roger Quattlebaum, Danny Lanier, Billy Lanier, and J.T. Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donahoo Street, Statesboro, GA 30458
