Gary Allen Keitz

Gary Allen Keitz, 71, of Kenefic, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 21, 2025. Gary was born on May 3, 1954, in Denison, Texas, to Melvin Ray Keitz and Carolyn Marie (Turner) Keitz.

A proud graduate of Denison High School, Gary went on to further his education in plumbing and HVAC. Throughout his life, he was a hardworking and skilled tradesman, building a career that included plumbing, HVAC work, carpentry, and general contracting. His craftsmanship and dedication touched many homes and lives over the years.

On September 2, 1972, Gary married the love of his life, Jeanette Ashford, in Denison, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life and, in 1986, made their home in Durant, Oklahoma. Gary was a faithful member of the Caddo Church of Christ.

Gary lived life with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys of family. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and smoking meat, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his loved ones. His presence, laughter, and steady guidance will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Carolyn Keitz, and his sister, Penny.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Jeanette Keitz of the home; his four children: Dodee Hammond and husband Joseph of Choctaw, OK; Alisha Dettling and husband Chad of McKinney, TX; Jennifer Wesley and husband John Paul of Durant, OK; and Mark Keitz and wife Jamie of Tatum, TX. He is also survived by his brother Ricky Keitz and wife Vickie of Bells, TX.

Gary leaves behind a cherished legacy in his grandchildren: Teddy Hammond, Timothy Hammond and wife Lauren, Helen Hammond, Luke Dettling, Emma Dettling, Jake Dettling, Benjamin Wesley and wife Taylor, Ryan Wesley and wife Jo, Kaylee Keitz, Emilee Keitz, Beau Keitz, and Oliver Keitz Pinto; and his great-grandchildren: Shepherd Hammond, Conner Wesley, Hadlee Wesley, Walker Wesley, and Baby Silas Wesley, who will arrive soon.

Family visitation will be held at Brown's Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for friends and family.

Gary's life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
