Gary Lee Kissel, 79, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born August 10, 1942 in Evansville to the late Warren A. and Amelia F. (McMichael) Kissel.
Gary was a self-employed contractor as a brick and rock layer. He was an entrepreneur and car dealer in Dixon, KY. Gary enjoyed doing body work on cars and restoring cars. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Gary was known for his strong work ethic and his abundance of energy. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Julie K. (Phillip) Hardin of Madisonville, KY, Nancy A. (Bruce) Thomas of Henderson, KY, and Kathy M. (John) Dailey of Morganfield, KY; grandchildren, Erika, Brittni, B.J., Olivia, Jason, and Stephanie; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronny Kissel and David Kissel; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Kissel; sisters, Darlene, Rosela, Becky, and Shirley; and brothers, Eddie, Rick and Raymond Kissel.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ronny Kissel officiating.
Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Life Center Church, 4600 N. St. Joseph Ave., Evansville, IN 47720.
