Gary Joe Kozen Jr.

Gary Joe Kozen Jr., age 67, of Hendersonville passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born on August 13, 1958, in Charleston, WV, he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Gary dedicated his professional life to the field of operations management, serving as the Vice President of Operations for HealthTronics Inc. for over 30 years until his retirement. His leadership and commitment were highly valued by colleagues and associates alike.

A man of faith, Gary was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he found community and spiritual nourishment throughout the latter part of his life.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gary Joe Kozen Sr. and Nellie Ann Skiles Kozen. Gary's memory will be lovingly cherished by his surviving family: his wife, Debra Jo Kozen; his daughter, Beth Kennedy, and her husband Craig of Skillman, NJ; his son, Travis Kozen, and his wife Natalie of Charleston, WV. He leaves behind five adored grandchildren: Noah Kennedy, Grace Kennedy, Cora Kozen, Silas Kozen, and Kate Kozen. Gary is also survived by his sister, Kim Adkins, and her husband Gary of Pounding Mill, VA; his nephew, Cody Adkins, and his wife Amanda; and his aunt, Raegena Regets.

A burial service will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville, KY, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Gary's life and legacy.

Gary Joe Kozen Jr. will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Four Seasons Foundation for the benefit of Elizabeth House.
