Gary Kula, 74, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 5th, 2024.
Gary was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and was a graduate of Father Judge High School class of 67. Soon after, he entered the carpentry trade where he worked his way to becoming a master carpenter and a foreman until he retired in 2002. Gary was an accomplished guitar player and musician and most recently a member of the Old School Band, Deltone 4, and the Upstairs band. He was the life of the party, enjoyed golfing, vodka martinis, and spending time with family and friends. He entered a room, whistling and always singing some tune and a big smile on his face, making everyone in his life feel like he was their best friend. He will be missed dearly by his wife of 23 years, Joyce, her son Chris and wife Heather, his grandchildren, Caitlin, Brian, Isabella and Gavin and sister Dolores.
His service will be private, and in lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Salty Dog Animal Rescue saltydogsrescue.org – Rehoming senior dogs SDSAR PO box 4121 Pawleys Island SC 29585.

Knew Gary in Philly for almost 40 yrs...worked with him and it was always fun. Many, many golf trips through the years and needless to say, always crazy when Gary was along. Ironically, in later years, I owned a construction company and when it came time to close and move south, Gary paid me the honor of running my last jobs to perfection. Can´t believe we moved south almost together and we were then able to spend time golfing, talking of old and new times and sharing (many) of those vodka martini´s. Gary was a great carpenter, so much fun and mostly, my great buddy. I miss you.

Ditto to above and I will miss him terribly and how much we enjoyed our couples dinners with Joyce.
