Gary Lee LaBarge, born June 22, 1951, in Brookings, South Dakota, left an indelible mark on the lives of those who loved him, passing away on January 28, 2026, in Bakersfield, California, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer at the remarkable age of 74. Gary enjoyed visiting casinos, playing Blackjack, and showering love on all his beloved animals. His hobbies were a testament to his adventurous nature, including riding bikes, hiking, swimming, playing softball, watching sports (he was a huge Dodgers fan), and indulging in his favorite foods, especially steak. Gary loved music and was blessed with a captivating singing voice.

He is survived by his loving sister Linda LaBarge Brio, devoted daughter and son-in-law Cherie and David Fuentes, cherished son Jason LaBarge, and his adoring grandchildren David jr., Jeremy, and Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren Bailey, Eliana, Aria, David III, Ariana, Ember, and Malakai.

Though he was preceded in death by his mother Norma Rasmussen and father Sheridan LaBarge, his legacy lives on. Gary's love and care for his long time girlfriend of 25+ years, Barbara Glaus, were a beacon of hope, and he was deeply loved by many. As a proud Vietnam Army veteran who served from 1971 to 1976, Gary's bravery and selflessness continue to inspire.
