Gary William Laidler

On September 28, 2025, Gary Laidler, age 85, passed away at his home in Macomb, MI. Gary was born on August 19, 1940 in Oxford, MI to Earl Laidler and Bernice (Perry) Laidler. Raised in Oxford, he met Mary Kay (Hubble) in high school and was married before serving his county in Germany. He worked for Newark Electronics and was eventually transferred to Chicago, IL to become Vice-President and District Manager. After moving back to Michigan and having worked for 36 years for the same company, he eventually retired in 2002 to enjoy time up at his cabin in Curtis, MI where he could fish and enjoy the lake. He was also an avid hunter who rarely missed a deer season in Michigan even while living in Illinois.

He was a loving husband to Mary Kay Laidler for 66 years and raised two children, David (Maria) Laidler of Bellevue, WA and Debra Laidler of Davison, MI. He was a caring Grandfather to Ariel (Mason) Cooley and Kristin (Mason) Brown. He is also survived by his two brothers, Larry Laidler of Clarkston, MI and Richard (Marie) Laidler of N. Fort Meyers, FL along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following the cremation, a memorial service will be held at the Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, MI on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 with visitation beginning at 10:00.
