Gary Lee Larsen, age 76, of Port Edwards, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, WI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow at Switched II in Nekoosa. Burial will take place at Port Edwards Cemetery on a later date.

Gary was born on November 13, 1948, in Wisconsin Rapids to Phil and Dorothy (Solie) Larsen. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. Gary married Ruth Thurber on July 27, 1968, at Port Edwards Methodist Church.

Gary dedicated 43 years of service as a Bleach Plant Operator at Nekoosa Paper Mill and also volunteered his time as a firefighter with the Port Edwards Fire Department. In his free time, he cherished time with his family and friends, enjoyed family vacations, and loved sharing meals with his brothers. Gary also enjoyed socializing at the local establishments.

Gary is survived by his wife, Ruth Larsen; children, Dean (Jaime Lorbeck) Larsen and Dawn (Jerome Kauffman) Larsen; brothers, Richard (Nellie) Larsen and Randy (Joan) Larsen; and brother-in-law, Clarence (Julie) Thurber.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Dorothy Soley; brother, Ron (Nancy) Larsen; sister, Linda (Tom) Goodwin; and in-laws, Delbert and Angie Thurber.

Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
