Gary E. Lavin

Gary Edward Lavin, 72, a resident of Ashland and formerly Framingham, died Friday, April 4, 2025, after a period of declining health. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Edward J. Lavin & Patricia C. (Farley) Andlauer.
Gary attended St. Bridgets School in Framingham, Assumption Prep in Worcester, and Framingham South High School. He had a diverse work history starting at a young age at Farley's Diner and The Meadows, he ran the lunch counter at Balboni's Drug Store in Nobscot. He had several auto body and repair shops, and sold tee shirts and rock & roll gear at concert venues throughout New England for many years. His biggest show was the 1984 summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Gary also spent several years working for the Local 609 Laborers Union.
Gary studied martial arts for many years, always striving to be like his hero, Bruce Lee. He had a special place in his heart for animals.
Gary is survived by his wife, Maureen (Kaufman), his siblings, Gregory Lavin & his wife Anne, and Kimberly Greenlaw & her husband Thom, his step brothers, Eric and Phillip Andlauer, his step sister, Lynn Andlauer, his nephews Matthew and Thomas Lavin, and many cousins and friends.
The family extends their deep gratitude to Gary's close friend, Tony Dicicco for all the help and support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
