Gary Leseberg Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 16, 2026.
Gary J. Leseberg, 84, of Dubois, Wyoming passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Thermopolis Rehab and Care Center.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026 at Mountain Grace Church in Dubois, Wyoming with burial to follow at the Dubois Cemetery.

Gary James Leseberg was born November 14, 1941, the son of William Burton and Verna Elizabeth (Locke) Leseberg in Lander, Wyoming. He grew up and attended school in Dubois.

He met the love of his life, Sandra (Paulsen) Leseberg while in high school, and they married on November 5, 1960. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter and simple pleasures. He and Sandra owned a restaurant in Moneta, Wyoming. Over the next ten years, the couple welcomed five children, Randy, Rodger, Harry, Kristi and Kevin. After leaving Moneta, Gary worked for Joe Back, guiding, outfitting and wrangling in the Wind River Mountain Range. Later, he went to work for Mountain Bell as a lineman in the eastern part of Wyoming. In the mid to late sixties, he worked for Cy Tjomsland, who ran Dubois Electric, doing general contracting in Teton Village, Jackson Hole, and Colter Bay areas. He worked for Louisiana Pacific in the 1970's, where he worked as a logger falling, skidding and hauling logs to the Louisiana Pacific Stud Mill in Dubois, Wyoming. Following this, he worked in the Riverton valley for Lucky Mac in the Gas Hills and for UPS as a mechanic. He also worked for Gilpatrick, working on several gravel crushers. Gary returned to Dubois and finished his career working for the Wyoming Department of Transportation as a mechanic. On the weekends, after work, and into retirement, Gary owned and operated Leseberg Automotive.

Gary lived a life of hard work, and he had a devotion to family. Gary loved to travel to Nevada and Riverton and try his luck in the casinos. He was a talented guitar player and loved to sing old county songs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, gold panning and sharing his jokes with anyone who stopped by.

He is survived by his children; Randy (Sherri) Leseberg, Rodger (Sandie) Leseberg, Kristi (Sam) VonKrosigk, Kevin (Juleen) Leseberg and daughter-in-law Kim Leseberg; his sister-in-law Patsy Leseberg, and sister-in-law Linda Satterfield. Gary had thirteen grandchildren, Shayne (Amity) Leseberg, Shaylene Leseberg, Schuyler (Valerie) Leseberg, Tyler (Jenna) Leseberg, Kassi (Henry Kadiri) Leseberg, Hayli (Nolan) Foss, Kendra Leseberg, Kent (Katie) VonKrosigk, Amber (Justin) Dykes, Taylor (Connor) Davis, Kayleb (Tessa Thompson) Leseberg, Rachelle (Seth) Harris and Kurt Leseberg. He has been the great-grandfather to thirteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Leseberg, his son Harry Leseberg, his parents Bill and Verna Leseberg, brother, Billy Leseberg, sisters Carrol O'Neal and Alice Hart, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harry and Dorothy Paulsen, brothers-in-law Lyle Paulsen, Gerald Hart, Jerry Paulsen and Arlie Satterfield, sister-in-law Mary Paulsen and Mary Margaret Paulsen; nieces, Stacey Satterfield, Peggy Paulsen, Dorothy (Dorrie) Paulsen, and Monie O'Neal; nephews, Michael Leseberg, Joseph Leseberg; and great nephew, Richard Leseberg.
