Gary Charles Levesque of Merrimack, NH, and formerly of Nashua, NH and Tucson, AZ, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the age of 72. He was surrounded by family members.

Gary was born in Argentia, Newfoundland, the eldest son of Robert and Therese Levesque, formerly of Nashua, NH. As the son of a Navy seaman, he grew up in New York, New Jersey, Italy and Florida before the family settled in Nashua. He grew up in Nashua where he attended Saint Christopher School and graduated from Nashua High School in 1971. He was a familiar face at Rich's department store where he worked for 29 years from the sales floor through management. He was most recently enjoying retail consultation with Gordon Brothers group. Gary's life revolved around his family, and his love for them. He loved family vacations to the beach, camping trips and traveling with his wife in their camper. He will always be remembered for his corny jokes and incredible ability to recall truly useless facts. The cherished Pappa of Violet, Ava, Gerion, Lily, DJ, Zoe and Buddy (Amari), he was wise beyond his years and truly an angel among us.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maryellen (Madden) Levesque of Merrimack, NH, and their daughter Becky (Levesque) Jewell her husband Tom of Concord, NH, and their children. His great-aunt, Sr. Margaret Schmit, OP (Aunt Peggy) of Amityville, NY. His sisters and brother, Michelle Levesque of Nashua, NH, Patricia Levesque of Wilder, VT, Denise McPherson and her husband Ron of Deerfield, NH, Christopher Levesque and his wife Jackie of Fall City, WA, as well his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lt. Col. (ret) David Madden and his wife Linda of Dover, NH, Kathleen (Madden) White and her husband James of Nashua, NH, Margaret (Madden) Jameson of Nashua, NH, and Amy Madden of Nashua, NH. Not to mention his beautiful tribe of nieces and nephews, Mike Levesque and his wife Katie and their children Theo and Maggie of Albuquerque, NM, Aimee Levesque and her fiancé David Arnett of Whitefish, MT, Mimi Hammond and her husband Keith of Pittsfield, NH, Jared Levesque and his fiancé Charlee Striebinger of Seattle, WA, Madi Levesque of Norton, MA, Kyle McPherson of Somerville, MA, Philip McPherson and his wife Kirsten of Hooksett, NH, Brendan Madden of Dover, NH, Jonathan Madden of Front Royal, VA, Sarah White Royce and her husband Mike of Nashua, NH, Bridget Jameson and her husband Mike Davidson of Somersworth, NH, Molly Lundstedt and her husband Tom of Bedford, NH, and Regan Jameson of Chicago, IL. My Deepest sympathies for the loss of Gary

Gary and I met at JCPenney in North Conway, NH in 2006. We were closing the original store and opening a new one. They told me that a fellow would be coming to coordinate the liquidation and to help guide the set up of the new unit. We were polar opposites and he completed everything about me that was lacking - he was organized, detailed, and made sure everything was 100% by the book. He and I spent over 3 months together virtually 7 days a week, 12 plus hours a day, closing one store while simultaneously opening a new one. I gained a best friend and a brother from another mother. 20 years later we emailed and messaged each other numerous times a week and spoke often on the phone. Gary was the most intelligent and informed person you would ever meet. He and I differed in politics and on a variety of topics but we always respected each other and I credit him with keeping me off the cliff more than once. He and Mary were just the model couple and so perfect for each other. I am absolutely devastated by his passing. Selfishly I will miss my friend and confidant. If you are lucky in life you may have someone that made such a difference in your life that you cannot imagine a world without them - for me this is Gary. No doubt, the kind soul that he was, he will be among the angels. Rest In Peace my friend...and our love to Mary and Gary's family.
