Gary Joseph Markulic

Gary J. Markulic passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at his home in Leland, North Carolina. He was born on October 15, 1951, to the late Joseph and Mary Markulic.

Gary dedicated his life to caring for others through his work as a Registered Nurse in the Renal Unit at the VA Medical Center. His compassion, dedication, and gentle demeanor left a lasting impact on both his patients and colleagues.

In 1987, Gary married the love of his life, Janet Lynn McElligott. Together, they built a life rooted in love, companionship, and mutual respect.

Outside of his professional life, Gary found joy in life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood, finding peace in those quiet moments outdoors.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Janet; his loving sister, Marlene Kucsma; and his two cherished dogs, Kylie and Minnie.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the gentle strength with which he lived each day. Please leave memories and condolences for Gary's family under "Share a Memory".
