Gary E. Moen, 76, of Mayville, ND died Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Gary was born January 19, 1949 to Omar and Marcella (Bjerke) Moen in Mayville, ND. He grew up in Mayville and graduated from Mayville High School.
In January of 1968 he joined the US Army. He served as an Army Core Engineer during the Vietnam War, earning many special honors and was honorably discharged in August of 1970. Gary was a professional truck driver owning his own company for over 35 years.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and his vegetable garden sharing his produce with family and friends.
Gary is survived by his companion: Shelia Anderson; son: Jason Moen; 2 daughters: April (Daniel) Cranston and Alicia (Thomas) Rolfson; 10 grandchildren: Krista Cranston, DJ Cranston, Tyler Cranston, Sean Cranston, Ryan Cranston, Blaize Gamber, Tahj Gamber, Cadence Rolfson, Mercedes Rolfson and Aiden Rolfson; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Vicki (Tom) Soholt, Annette (Eddie) Sherva and Carla (Bruce) Christianson; 1 brother: Kurt Moen and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Omar and Marcella Moen.
Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Service: Will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND.
Military Honors: May~Port Honor Guard and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors.
Burial: Will be in the Fargo National Cemetery.
