Gary D. Moss, 79, passed away December 24, 2024. He was born in Akron to the late Bethel and Myra Moss and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 55 years. He was a 1963 graduate of Central High School going on to earn an associate’s degree from Akron University. Gary was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country in Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart. He worked at Goodyear and Firestone before spending 26 years working for the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post 281 and the FOP #49, where he served as the longtime treasurer. Gary enjoyed golf seasons with his retired friends and loved a good gin and tonic. Movie dates and a tub of popcorn with the love of his life, Becky, were one of his favorite pastimes. He had a great laugh, could do “The Time Warp” like no other, and when driving had many “pals” that would share the road with him. His work ethic, integrity, generosity and faith were unmatched. He would give of himself to help anyone, whether family or someone he had just met. He instilled life lessons to his children and all those around him through the way he lived and the way he loved.
He will be remembered for his potato rolls at every Christmas and a lifetime of Gary-isms. His life of service and devotion to his family will be his legacy.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman, Roger and Tim; Gary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Becky; daughter, Katie; sons, Marc (Joyce), Michael and Matthew (Kelly); grandchildren, Brandon, Calvin, Amelia, Kenna, Jo and Gabe; numerous nieces and nephews and the entire Rich Family.
