Gary Oaks Obituary
Mr. Oaks was born in Rome, Georgia on February 28, 1955, son of Jewell M. "Margie" Swift Oaks and the late John Walter "J.W." Oaks. He worked for many years in construction. Mr. Oaks was a faithful member of New Life Church of God where he was very active and loved to sing.
Survivors include a daughter, Mekashi Shepard and her husband, Brian; his mother, Margie Oaks; three grandchildren, Jada Shepard, Chase Shepard, and Ethan Shepard; several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Sean Belcher will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 1 until 2:45pm.

I played Little League baseball and went to HS with Gary. I hadn't seen him in years but have fond memories and am saddened by his passing.
