Harold E. Rice

Mr. Harold E. Rice, age 94, of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at a local medical facility.

Harold was born in Adairsville, Georgia, on February 3, 1932, and was the son of the late Jack Rice and Florence Baggett (formerly Hight). In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his devoted wife, Edna Lois Hollingsworth Rice, whom he married on December 10, 1954, and his brother, Edward Rice.

Harold loved spending time traveling and camping with his wife Edna, and together they visited all 50 states. He never went a day without spending a morning at McDonald's, where everyone called him "Pops." He loved being with his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Jeffrey.

Harold is survived by his son, Bryan Rice, and his wife, Donna, of Rome, Georgia; his grandson, Dr. Jeffrey Rice, and his wife, Ashley; his great-grandchildren, Charlee Eugene Rice and Georgia Gayle Rice, all of Jenks, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 11:00 am at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jeffrey Rice and Zach Whitner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shannon Community Church in Harold's memory.
