In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling and golfing, competing in Cameron Open each September for many seasons. Gary greatly enjoyed time with his family from years of birthday celebrations, picnics, reunions, family outing at theme parks, water parks and to simply enjoy the relaxation at a cabin near the lake "up north". Holidays with family were always very special times.
