Gary Leon Roberts

Gary Leon Roberts, 74, a longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Monday, January 12, 2026. Gary was born on September 9, 1951, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Alfred and Margie (Hagerty) Roberts. Gary joined the United States Army in 1969. He was once stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, where he met the love of his life. He married Bonnie Kriger on May 29, 1971, in Anchorage. They lived in Alaska for twelve years before moving to Miami, where they resided for forty-five years. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Gary would begin work at the United States Postal Service. He worked his way up from clerk to supervisor and finally as postmaster at Bluejacket post office before retiring in 2003. Gary was a jokester and fun-loving, very outgoing. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Motorcycles, traveling, Gunsmoke on TV, and Trump. He loved the Lord and loved his grandkids. Gary was preceded in passing by his parents, Big Al Roberts and Margie.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Roberts, his children Carmen Atkinson, Shane Roberts and Kayla Friend, his sisters Sandra and Bob Rogaleski, Sharon Davis, and Linda and Steve Harlin, his grandchildren are Cody Atkinson and his wife Hannah, Wyatt Atkinson and his wife Bailey, Stone Roberts and his wife Kelsi, Colton Roberts, his great grandchildren are Harper Atkinson, Weston Atkinson, Millie Atkinson, Olive Roberts, Adalynn Roberts, Cohen Friend and Emrys Friend along with Bonus kids -to many to name!

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel in Miami, with Reverend Jarrod Kendall officiating. The United States Army Funeral Honors Team will provide Military Honors.
