Gary Jay Rosenstrauch, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at home.
He was born on February 27, 1941 in the Bronx, NY to the late Bernard and Evelyn (Rosinger) Rosenstrauch.
Gary received his Bachelor's in Textile Management from North Carolina State University. Gary owned a chain of clothing stores in Central Pennsylvania. Later he received his profession commercial real estate designation of CCIS, and was employed in commercial real estate sales.
Gary served in the United States Army Reserves following college.
He was a long-time member of Temple Ohev Sholom, where he served as treasurer and fundraising chairman. He enjoyed model trains and Penn State sports.
Surviving is his wife of almost 50 years, Cheryl K. "Sherry" (Sensel) Rosenstrauch, a daughter, Dennice R. "Dee" Schenk and her husband, Michael of Glen Mills, 3 sons; Erik D. Rosenstrauch and his fiancé, Kim Terrinoni of Delray Beach, FL, Joel F. Rosenstrauch of Grand Junction, CO, Alan M. Rosenstrauch and his companion, Caitlin Abbot of Palmyra, a sister, Gail Rosenstrauch and her companion, Loretta Schwick of Fort Lauderdale, FL, 3 grandchildren; Ellen Schenk and her companion, Michael Moreno, Daniel Schenk and Chase Rosenstrauch.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Bookstaber Chapel of Mount Moriah Cemetery, Harrisburg, PA, with Rabbi Marc Kline as officiant. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Harrisburg, PA.
Memorial contributions in Gary's honor may be made to Temple Ohev Sholom, 2345 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite #270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
