It is with heartfelt sadness and profound gratitude that we celebrate the life of Gary "Pete" Wayne Ross, who was born on August 19, 1946, in Cleveland County, NC and went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2025. A beloved husband, devoted father, cherished pawpaw, and great pawpaw, Pete lived a life for the Lord Jesus Christ, that radiated joy and laughter, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Pete was a truck driver for Spartan Express, dedicating countless hours on the road, but his greatest joy was found in the love of his family and his deep faith. For over 27 years, he was an active member of Love Valley Baptist Church, where he poured his heart into his service, nurturing his love for God and his community. His commitment to his faith served as an inspiration to those around him, exemplifying what it means to live a life devoted to the Lord.
Pete had a unique ability to bring smiles and laughter wherever he went. He cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed engaging in his hobbies, which included drawing, collecting bottles, and playing many instruments. He was truly one of a kind, and his spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of those he loved.
Pete is survived by his adoring wife, Elaine Ross, who faithfully stood by his side; daughters, Sonya Ross (Eston Jr) of Wallace, NC and Angela Robinson (Doug) of Kings Mountain; son, Eric Ross (Deborah) of Gastonia; grandchildren, Jenny Seibert, Christopher Jones, Stephanie Ross, Melinda Ross, Christopher Ledford, Lacey Davis, Allie Jones, Caleb Ross, Justin Mathis (Hannah), Joshua Robinson, and Lindsey Robinson; nine great grandchildren and one on the way, all who will carry on his legacy of love, laughter, and faith.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Estelle Ross; siblings, Tommie Jean Conner, Wanda Timms, and Terry Ross.
In celebration of Pete's life, the visitation will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Love Valley Baptist Church, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor his incredible life. A funeral service at 7:00 PM, will also be held at Love Valley Baptist Church after the visitation. A graveside service will be held the following day, Thursday, August 28, 2025, a 11:00 AM, at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Pete Ross, your laughter will be missed, but your love will forever resonate in our hearts. May you rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
