Gary Sandstrom was born in Hibbing, MN, to the late Walter and Ina Sandstrom. Amongst many things, Gary was a skilled carpenter, with a passion for creating and building with his hands. Known for his love of music, Gary could often be found with the radio blasting to his favorite station, in the garage sitting in his favorite spot watching the world go by. He was an outdoorsman avid gardener, enjoyed playing darts, and had a special fondness for his grandchildren and dogs. His heart for (better or worse) belonged to all the Minnesota sports teams, which he followed closely. Gary was beloved, respected and admired by all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his children, Sara Sandstrom (Jeffrey), Erik Sandstrom, and John Sandstrom (Sara); his grandchildren, Tyler, Aspen, Ava, John Jr., and Ella; his great-grandson, Hudson; and his sisters, Carol Boughner (Jim), Judy Mallard, Diane Antonovich (Jay), Donna Gish, Lori Miller, and Kathleen Wood (John). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him with love and affection.
Gary will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and his legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on in their hearts.
