Schenectady Gary A. Siekierski, 81, of the Woodlawn neighborhood, Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Born in Schenectady on June 14, 1944, Gary was a beloved son of the late Andrew and Jessie (Jankiewicz) Siekierski. A proud graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School, he went on to attend Sage Junior College of Albany and later completed his studies in business and accounting at Russell Sage College. Gary's career began humbly as a driver for Marlou Cleaners, Inc., a company that included a formal wear division. In 1969, he and his business partner, Harold Ariel, purchased the company expanding to multiple locations in Schenectady, Glens Falls, and Kingston. He served as president of the company leading with determination, precision, and integrity. Marlou Formal Wear became a trusted name in the Capital Region, taking pride in helping generations of families celebrate milestones in life. After retirement in 2010, Gary enjoyed a second act as a starter at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course where his love of golf and community continued to serve. Married in 1975, Gary was the loving husband to Bernadette A. Neutts Siekierski. Together, they shared 41 years of marriage until her passing on January 14, 2017. Gary will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering work ethic, and generous spirit. He carried himself with humility and strength, appreciating both the traditions he inherited and the bonds he built throughout his life. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Gary was predeceased by siblings, James Fulton, Kent Fulton and Donna Rhodes; as well as many dear friends who now welcome him home. He leaves behind his loving companion, Lorraine Seber; his sister-in-law, Eileen Martin; nephews, Kevin Martin and Greg (China) Martin; great-niece, Sophie Martin and cherished friends, including John Musco and his companion, Carol Sokolowski. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St. Schenectady. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 9 a.m. with a prayer service at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady, with Rev.
