Gary Wayne Smith, Sr., aged 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
A father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Gary dedicated many years of his life to his work as a plumber. He was especially fond of spending cherished moments with his grandchildren and family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by those he leaves behind.
Born on March 15, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Virgil and Doris (Cockrell) Smith. Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Mercer, and his father, Virgil Smith.
He is survived by his loving son, Gary Wayne (Crystal) Smith, Jr.; his daughter, Ashley (Joe) Smith; his sister, Debra Green; brother-in-law Darrell Green, his step-son, Christopher Smith; and his sister, Patty Graves. Gary is also remembered fondly by his extended family and many friends, all of whom will continue to celebrate his life and legacy.
