Gary Stephen "Steve" Surrett

Gary Stephen Surrett, lovingly known as Steve, passed away peacefully at home on may 13, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born in White Pine, TN on August 6, 1946.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kaye Surrett, his daughter, Farrah Surrett Newman; his son, Matthew Surrett; his grandchildren, John-Willis Newman and Emmitt Newman; and his son-in-law, Will Newman. he is also survived by his sister, Sandy Price and brother-in-law, Mike Price, along with many extended family members and life-long friends who will carry his memory forward with love.

Many in the White Pine community will fondly remember Steve from his decades of dedicated work at Allen-Surrett  Hardware, the family business he proudly ran alongside his father, Henry Surrett. He was a familiar face, trusted friend and a man who greeted everyone with kindness and a steady presence.

Outside of work, Steve found peace at the beach- his favorite place to unwind, reflect and enjoy life. Whether it was the sound of the waves or the sun on his face, the ocean brought him comfort and joy.

A man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering loyalty, Steve leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, honesty and community. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Steve requested a private ceremony with his immediate family. The family thanks all who loved and cared for him throughout his life.
