Sturgeon, Gary L. 68, of North Charleston passed away on Friday January 19th after a long battle with Leukemia. Arrangements by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services North Charleston.
Obituary
Gary Lee Sturgeon, 68, of North Charleston SC, husband of Linda Sturgeon, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024. He was born June 5, 1955, in Mexico Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at Cooper River Baptist Church, 2:00 pm, 1059 Crawford Street, North Charleston, SC, on February 10, 2024.
Gary was a retired truck driver and retired Air Force Veteran. His Christian faith and family were his priorities in life. He served his church as a deacon and a member of the security team. Gary volunteered to be part of the Baptist Disaster Relief where he volunteered for several natural disaster relief efforts. He was a member of the American Legion. There he rode with the American Legion Riders motorcycle group and always showed his willingness to be part of something bigger than himself.
Gary is being welcomed in Heaven by his son Shaun Sturgeon, his parents Kenneth and Betty Sturgeon and brother Duane Sturgeon.
Survivors include his daughter Harmony Gipson (William Gammons) of Ravenel SC, son Matthew Branscum (Stephanie), of Summerville SC, three grandchildren, Xavier Branscum, (Deidre) USAF Japan, Cameron Gammons and Arianna Gammons of Ravenel, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.

Our Prayers go out for Linda and Family during this sad time. We knew Gary thru Cooper River Baptist Church, were we attending for several years. God Speed Gary. Rest in Sweet Peace.

I was able to see him this past July in West Virginia during a Mapper reunion. We were in the same unit at Rhein Main AB Germany (435CMB). Rest in peace my friend. God bless your family in this time of grief.
