Our hearts are saddened by the passing of Gary Stephen Swenson, at age 59, on April 27, 2022 in Glendora, California.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 14, 1962. His family relocated to New Jersey for a short time before settling in Glendora. As a young adult, he and his wife Julie purchased the family residence, living the majority of his life in the same home.

Gary worked tirelessly with his hands his entire life. His last occupation was as a drill operator and supervisor, retiring in 2021.

His name was synonymous with service. Ultimately, his many talents created the term "We need a Gary!" He could build or fix anything and was incredibly giving with his time. We know many of you have memories and stories of his kindness, generosity, ingenuity, artistry and humor. During the most challenging experiences in his life, he consistently displayed courage, sincere friendship, and true love.

Gary is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Julie; and their talented son, Sven. He is also survived by 5 sisters: Ann, Sandi, Shirley, Lilian, Karen and a large extended family who will miss him every day.

He is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Sven "Ralph" and Roger.

Funeral Services were held on May 6 in Glendora, California.

A Burial Service will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 2:30 PM at the Oak City Cemetery. Friends unable to attend in person are invited to view the recorded video of the Service. The link to the Graveside Ceremony will be posted with his obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com by Saturday evening.
