Gary Vinson

Gary L. Vinson, 71, formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., passed away on Nov. 17, 2016, at Hospice of Chattanooga. Gary was born on June 5, 1945, in Chattanooga. He worked for CSX railroad for 30 years in various locations as an engineer. He was a member of Tiftonia Baptist Church. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and O.J. Vinson; infant son "Little Gary"; and nephew, Eddie Vinson. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kim Hartley (Mike), of Rossville, Ga., and Nicole Vinson, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; stepson, Robert Babb (Tammy), of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Cecil Wayne Vinson (Betty), of Chattanooga; sister, Velma Shinn (Ted), of Ringgold, Ga.; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2016, followed by a celebration of life at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Ted Shinn officiating. Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
