Gary Paul Vlasak

Gary P. Vlasak, 78, a lifelong resident of Owego, New York, unexpectedly passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Ida (Brown) Vlasak; three brothers, Thomas Vlasak, Douglas Vlasak, Terry Vlasak; his in-laws, John and Helen Simielo; son-in-law, Kevin McRory. Gary is survived by his wife of 57 years, Angeline (Simielo) Vlasak; daughter, Renee McRory; brother, David "Mike" Vlasak; sister, Karen Sherman; sister-in-law, Patrice Vlasak; brother-in-law, James (Beau) and his wife Martha Simielo; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Gary graduated from Owego Free Academy, Class of 1965 and had recently attended their 60th class reunion. He was a "Goat" of Lincolnshire development, residing there since 1974. Gary retired from IBM – Endicott, in 2004, after 36 years of service. He enjoyed nothing more than hitting the Links – earning the bragging rights for two "holes-in-one." Gary also cherished his role as "Grampy" to his four-legged side kick, Keeva. Together they enjoyed taking walks, sitting outside, squirrel watching, and taking their afternoon naps. "We Know you've found the best course with endless fairways and sunshine " The family will receive friends Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY.
