Gary Whitcomb, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on December 31, 1965, in Medina, Ohio, Gary lived a life filled with passion and love that resonated deeply with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
An accomplished individual, Gary was particularly proud of his time as a state qualifier wrestler from Brunswick High School. His competitive spirit carried into his adulthood, reflected in his unwavering support for the Cleveland Browns, demonstrating his loyalty as an avid fan.
Gary was not only a sports enthusiast but also a man of great warmth who enjoyed fishing and had a profound love for animals, sharing his home with five beloved dogs. He took great pleasure in bringing smiles to others through his jokes. His laughter and kindness will be missed by all who crossed his path.
Gary's devotion to family was paramount in his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ava "Denise," and their children, Madison and Bryce. Gary is also survived by his siblings, Sharon (George) Rayk, Wayne (Peg Whitcomb), and Gloria Whitcomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Barbara Whitcomb, along with his brother, Dale Whitcomb.
A visitation will be held on September 16, 2025, at Buckeye Christian Assembly, located at 3159 Columbia Rd, Medina, Ohio, from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 7:45 PM.
Gary's memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his genuine spirit and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to those he cherished will forever be remembered.
Guests are asked to please wear your favorite Cleveland Browns or other similar attire to the service.
