Robert L. Whitcomb of Sealy passed away on Sept 1, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on May 15, 1943, in Wharton, Texas, to the late Benjamin and Marsaline Whitcomb. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Blazek Whitcomb, and his sons Stephen Whitcomb of Houston, Christopher Alan Whitcomb and daughter-in-law Kristin Whitcomb of Austin, grandchildren Jackson Cole Whitcomb, currently at the University of Florida, and Samantha Kate Whitcomb at a high school in Austin. His sister-in-law Ellen Hrnicko and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James H. Whitcomb and Charles R. Whitcomb; sisters-in-law Joan Whitcomb and Augusta Whitcomb; and brother-in-law Ellison Hrnicko.

Bob was the youngest of 3 and his brothers gave him a nickname of Pete, which stuck through high school and college. After graduating from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg in 1961, Bob attended the University of Houston and graduated in 1964. A year after obtaining his degree, he married Sherry, his high school sweetheart. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June 25th.

After completing his degree, Bob began his career with the Rosenberg Police Department and then joined the Texas Department of Public Safety as a highway patrolman stationed in Victoria and Hallettsville, Texas. He joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent, where his assignments were in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mobile, Alabama; and Houston, Texas. He was very proud of his law enforcement service and served with honor and integrity as a Special Agent for the FBI for 28 years.

Upon retirement, Bob transitioned to support Sherry with their Antique and Crafts business, working together for the past 20 years. Known for his hard work and devotion, Bob valued his family and friends. He lived out his Christian faith daily and was a proud member of the San Felipe Methodist Church. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing he has entered the eternal rest of the Lord.

Visitation will be held at San Felipe Methodist Church, located at the corner of FM 1458 and Second Avenue in San Felipe, on September 10, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
