Gary Lee Wimpy, 64 of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was born in Detroit Michigan, raised in Wyandotte, Michigan until the age of seventeen when he moved to Ringgold, Georgia with his parents. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the American Federation of Government Employees as he has worked with the Transportation Security Administration since 2010. Gary liked his job and will be missed for his sarcastic yet friendly personality. He had an easy-going spirit, enjoyed restoring old cars, and was a jack of all trades. Gary was a wonderful cook and recently began hummingbird and deer watching from his yard. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and Papa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Lee Wimpy and Doris Jones Wimpy, sister, Brenda Borza.
Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tina Justice Wimpy; the apple of his eye, daughter, Ashley Wimpy; sister, Sharon Wimpy; granddaughters, Airyn Wimpy and Olivia Wimpy as well as several nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the funeral home chapel.
