Gary R. “Pappy” Young, 85, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Pappy was born on May 3, 1940, in Aurora, Missouri, to the late Raymond Young and Mabel Buler. He spent much of his working life in construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic. In recent years, Pappy found joy in putting puzzles together, playing Rummikub, and participating in fellowship and Bible study at Autumn Place.
He is survived by his children: Brian Young and wife Susanna, Gary Young and wife Lyda, Tony Young and wife Afton, Cindy Graves and husband Mark, Kimmy Lawhorn and husband Noah, Melissa Watson, and Michelle Nivens; his sisters, Jeanie Bennett and Judy Terry; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherished him deeply.
Pappy was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean Coppinger; his parents; and his son, Brad Young.
