Gaspar Reyes, age 91, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Milford, Connecticut. He was born and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to the late Sinencia Reyes and Miguel Reyes. In his early 30s, Gaspar relocated to Connecticut, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love, and laughter.
Gaspar was the beloved husband of Carmen Santos Reyes. He was known for his funny, loving, and caring nature and for always being willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A true friend to many, Gaspar had a joyful spirit that brightened every room. He enjoyed listening to his favorite Spanish music, cheering for his beloved New York Mets, and savoring his favorite candies.
He worked for many years at Bryant Electric Westinghouse and took great pride in his dedication and craftsmanship. Gaspar was a devoted father to eight children — Irma Reyes, Elsie Agosto, Gaspar Reyes, Migdalia Morales, and Elizabeth González — and three stepchildren — Diana Rodriguez, Elizabeth Montero, and Carlos Acevedo.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sinencia Torres and Miguel Reyes, and three of his sisters, Vicenta Ortiz, Cristina Pizarro, and Gregoria Reyes. He is survived by his children, stepchildren, four siblings — Margarita Reyes, Florentina Torres, Matilde Ortiz, and Celsa Reyes — along with 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
