Gavan Blane Hollifield, born on March 20, 2003, in McDowell County, departed this life on October 7, 2025, at his residence. Gavan was a cherished son, grandson, and brother, known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life.

From a young age, Gavan showed a passion for sports which became an integral part of his life. His enthusiasm for football, wrestling, and baseball was evident, where he dedicated countless hours to practice and competition. He also had an enduring love for the outdoors, finding joy in hiking and exploring the beauty of nature.

Gavan is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Kricket Hollifield; father, Michael Patterson; sister, Samara Hollifield; grandmothers, Rosetta Hollifield and Cynthia Patterson; grandfather, Billy Hollifield; and great-grandmother, Helen Moore.

The memory of Gavan will be honored in a visitation on October 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at the Beam Celebration Center, located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC, 28752.

In remembering Gavan, his family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating a life filled with passion, joy, and an undying love for both sports and the great outdoors. His spirit will undoubtedly continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
