Sheila Louise Tate Wilkerson

On October 6, 2025 after fighting an illness, in which her strength never wavered, our loved one Sheila Louise Tate Wilkerson was called home to be with the Lord.

Sheila was born February 18, 1955 to the union of the late Geneva Tate and the late Charles Dolphus Tate. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Tate and Dorothy Carson, and three brothers, Wayne Tate, Larry Tate, and Jimmy Tate.

Sheila was employed with Collins & Aikman until an injury ended her career. Sheila loved the Lord and family. Throughout her life, she helped raise her nieces and nephews. She took on the role of mom to Hezekiah “Hezzie” Good from the moment he was born. She gave him the life every child deserves. Sheila enjoyed attending church and singing gospel music.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sisters, Rosena Lytle and Vangie Mason, and one brother, Earl Tate. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Charles Sullivan and Sandra Burgess for your help during Sheila’s illness.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 with Rev. Gary Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Temple of Jesus Church Cemetery.
