Gavin Edward Beaulieu, 11, of Franklin passed away peacefully with his loving parents and sisters by his side on August 14th in Boston Children's Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Milford on August 13, 2014, Gavin was the beloved son of Derek and Shannon (Dacey) Beaulieu, favorite brother of Reese and Sidney, first grandson of Sheila Dacey of Wareham and the late Edward Dacey and Richard and Debra Beaulieu of Onset, first great grandson of Rita Ameral of Winchester, adored nephew of Colleen (Dacey) DiPetrillo and her husband Christopher of Mansfield, Katelyn (Dacey) Dellorco and her husband Paul of Franklin, Paul Beaulieu and his wife Loretta of Bridgewater and Janelle (Beaulieu) Ewing and her husband Larry of Grand Bay, AL and cherished cousin of Victoria and Isabella DiPetrillo, Addison and Logan Dellorco and Damien, Lorelei and Felicity Beaulieu.

Gavin was a lifelong Franklin resident and attended Miss Amy's Playgroup, Franklin Children's School and Gerald M. Parmenter Elementary School. Each of these stops played a pivotal role in fostering his excitement of learning. Gavin never wanted to miss a day of school, even on his hardest days during treatment.

Gavin found pure joy in playing sports and he tried them all; baseball, soccer, wrestling, basketball, flag football, street hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse. If there were more hours in the day, he would have continued with every single one of them. Gavin most recently played ice hockey for the Minuteman Flames and the Franklin Panthers Middle School team and lacrosse for Franklin Youth Lacrosse and Coyotes Lacrosse.

Gavin's love of life was infectious and his smile and laugh were second to none. This did not change when he was diagnosed with leukemia at just 7 years old. He faced his diagnosis, relapse and bone marrow transplant with endless determination and courage. Gavin's resilience throughout the last three years was inspiring to all that knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Monday, August 25th at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
