Gayla Lankford

The Memorial Service for Ms. Gayla Bradley Lankford, 77, of Jacksonville, Alabama, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025, at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Jacksonville, Alabama. Her brother-in-law, Roy Thomas, will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Lankford passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Piedmont Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Milford Bradley; her mother, Gwen Sims; and her son, Tony Ray Lankford.
Gayla was born on Sand Mountain, attended Etowah High School, and was a longtime resident of Gadsden. She lived a short stint in Nebraska, but the cold was just too much. She spent her early life raising two children, and retired from Wal-Mart in 2008. Gayla loved the outdoors, photography, gospel music, playing the piano, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Her survivors include her daughters, Karen Hay and her husband, Kevin, and Sherri Jens; her grandchildren, Alex Reid, Donovan Jens, and Trevor Jens; her sisters, Glenda Goolsby, and Joan Thomas; her step-sister, Elaine Darbo and her husband, John; and several nieces and nephews.
