Gay was born Jan 1st 1934 in Greensboro NC to James R Marion and Mary B Marion.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Lind and Charlie Hunter and her brother Ronnie Marion as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She met the true love of her life and married Richard Huntoon Feb 22nd 1964. They met at Vandenberg Air Force Base and an amazing life began as they followed the Space program for Rocketdyne-Rockwell International and lived in 4 different states during their 54 years together. Most of that time was spent at Cape Canaveral while Richard worked on the rocket engines for the Apollo missions. While in Florida, Gay landed a job as club manager for Royal Oaks Country Club. She soon met Johnny Weissmuller, the original Tarzan! Gay was the only one that could get him to do that famous Tarzan yell. (Alcohol may have been involved) Rumor has it, Tarzan had a crush on Gay and always teased Richard that they should fight over her!
Their last post was in the San Fernando Valley. Gay became a travel agent to the stars of all things. Her favorite memory was delivering tickets to Bette Midler's home in Beverly Hills. She also had the Magic Castle account and set up all the travel for the magicians that performed there. That was the place to be, and they spent a lot of time there. They also traveled the world for many years and got to see most of it. Egypt and the Nile cruise was a highlight.
They finally retired to Pioneer CA and bought a house at Mace Meadows Golf course. They soon became friends with everyone and I mean everyone! Gay was the life of the party at all of their events. It was no surprise that they picked up that tab most of the time as they knew no limits to their generosity. Mom made friends easily and was always known as a character. One of her Buddies was none other than Willie Mays. He would come up and play at tournaments, and she made sure to ride with him whenever she could.
Richard passed away 2018 and Gay stayed in Pioneer for a couple of years before moving to AZ to be with her children. Gay was 91 and lived a very full life. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
