Gene Ferguson, Sr., 92, of Boynton Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2025, surrounded by love and family.
Born on June 19, 1933, in Huntington, Virginia, Gene proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he also showcased his strength and determination as a competitive boxer. After his service, Gene built a life around his passion for health and fitness, owning and managing several gyms before retiring to enjoy the Florida sunshine and his favorite pastime—golf.
A man of strong values and deep commitment, Gene was also a 33rd Degree Mason, exemplifying integrity, fellowship, and service to his community throughout his life.
For the past 20 years, Gene lived in Boynton Beach with his son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Jessica Ferguson, where he became affectionately known as “Grandpa” to many, especially among the Finn Hill and PC crew.
Gene’s legacy continues through his loving wife, Gerlinde Boudart Mayer; his son, Gene Ferguson, Jr.; his grandchildren Louis, Vincent, Devon, Giovanni, Mieka, and Aiden Ferguson; and his great-grandchildren Louis and Luna.
In accordance with Gene’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at one of his favorite places, The Hive Waterfront and Tiki Bar, where family and friends will gather to honor his life and spirit—Tommy Bahama shirts encouraged, just as he wanted.
Gene will be remembered for his strength, humor, loyalty, and generosity of heart. His legacy lives on in the laughter, stories, and love he leaves behind.
