Gene Hess Obituary
He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Balford and Ruby Pearl Hess.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former coal miner, truck driver, and an associate at Heligh Meyers Furniture. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bob, Steve, Charles, Grover, and Norman Hess.

Son: Tony Marshall Hess and wife, Lena of Alabama

Carol Joyce and husband, Larry of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
Sister In Law: Barbara Hess of Claypool Hill, Virginia
Brother: Ricky Hess and wife, Margaret of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
Grandchildren: Austyn West and Deidre Mitchell
Special Friends: Bill and Shelia Cantrell, Chris Garza, and Jill Ogle
Funeral services for Gene Clyde Hess will be conducted Friday, December 24, 2021 at 11am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Norma Mabe and Keith Cordle officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virgnia. Pallbearers will be: Chris Hess, Jimmy Meadows, Bill Cantrell, Keith Cordle, Ryan Collins, Donald Stacy, and Dyllon Southern. Friends may call from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Richlands, Virginia will oversee arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy may do so online at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
