Cherryville - Mrs. Geneva Ledwell Beam, 100, passed away peacefully on Friday October 10, 2025 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
Geneva was born October 24, 1924 in Rutherford County. She was a daughter of the late Robert B. Ledwell, Sr. and Ina Head Ledwell. Geneva worked in the textile and furniture industries and retired from Cochrane Furniture of Lincolnton. She will be remembered for her love of God, her family and friends. She enjoyed quilting and knitting. Geneva will forever be treasured as a giver to others.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bernice Beam; two sisters, Ruth Rutledge and Bea Wiley; three brothers, Jake, Mickey and Jr. Ledwell; a niece Peggy Bolick; two nephews Steve Watts and Tommy Brackett.
Survivors include her sister Grace Ledwell Brackett of Cherryville; seven nieces, ten nephews and a special cousin Ruth Randall of Cherryville.
We would like to thank all the wonderful staff and friends at Carolina Care Center for their kindness, love and devotion they shared with Geneva and Our Family. You're all special angels of mercy and have our deepest gratitude.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Geneva's life at 1:00PM on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville with Pastor Kyle DeLong officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene of Cherryville.
