Geneva Faye Buckner Brown, 94, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Life Care Center of Morehead.
She was born April 27, 1929 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late Lloyd Buckner and Lola Ison Buckner.
Geneva was a Kentucky Colonel. She was of the pentecostal faith and a founding member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith which she was very active in. She was also a cook for many years for the Rowan County Middle School, Breckenridge Training School, and the St. Claire Medical Center.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, singing and attending church, but most of all she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Brown; four daughters, Jeanie Wallace and Rita Wallace, Sandy Pierce, and Betty Thomas; five brothers, Clyde Buckner, Burness Buckner, Ronnie Buckner, Thomas Buckner, and Jack Buckner; three sisters, Oleta Buckner Carroll, Eva White, Nettie Jean Buckner.
Survivors include two sons, Tab Ivan Brown (Marilyn) and Terry M. Brown (Vicki) both of Morehead; two daughters, Brenda Bullins (Bill) of Wabash, Indiana, and Susie Reynolds of Seymour, Indiana; one brother, Forest Ray Buckner of Clearfield, Kentucky; one sister, Linda Ginter of Morehead; fifteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.
Geneva will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Clearfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Terry Brown, Tab Brown, Ty Brown, Josh Brown, Davis Brown, and Randy Thomas.
