Geneva "Jenny" Gayheart

Geneva "Jenny" Gayheart, age 77, of Larwill, IN, passed away at 9:40 am on Monday November 17, 2025, at her residence. Born on September 12, 1948, in Bryant's Store, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Burnice and Ruby (Hamblin) Runyon.
Geneva moved with her family to New Albany, before moving to Fort Wayne, where she attended North Side High School and graduated with the Class of 1966. On December 19, 1964, Geneva married Shermon Gayheart in Virginia. They then moved to Columbia City, before settling in Larwill.
Geneva worked as a school bus driver for Whitko Community School Corporation for 2 years then drove for Whitley County Consolidated Schools for over 23 years until her retirement in 2010.
Geneva enjoyed cooking, shopping, being social with others, spending time with her grandchildren, and having precision in everything she did.
Survivors include her son David Gayheart of Larwill; daughter-in-law Carla Jo Gayheart of Washington, North Carolina; grandchildren Branigan Gayheart, Brittany Gayheart, and Carmin Gayheart; sisters Lynn Martin and Joann Peters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Shermon Gayheart, Sr., son Shermon Gayheart, Jr., and sisters Wilma and Shirley.
Funeral services for Geneva will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday December 1, 2025, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
