Diane Kay Matthias

Diane Kay Matthias, age 87, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 6:05 am on Thursday November 20, 2025, at Miller's Oak Pointe. Born on March 9, 1938, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Francis and Edith (Percifield) Richards.
Diane attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne and Jonesboro High School, Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she graduated with the Class of 1956.
She enjoyed animals, shopping, Sunday dinners, ice cream, fresh bluegill, popcorn, art, flea markets, Indianapolis Colts football, and spending time with all the people in her life.
Diane worked first in banking and then as the first office personnel for Comcast Cable, Fort Wayne, where she continued to become human resource manager until her retirement.
After retirement she moved to Tri-Lakes to enjoy lake life. Several years later at the urging of her friend Diane Christie, Diane moved to Florida to bask in the sunshine, warmth, activities, and new friendship of Sharon, Lynette, Jane, Ardie, and Julie.
Survivors include her children Cynthia (Don Perrey) Lewis, Cody (Diane) Lewis, Julie, Carrie, Marti, and Tina; many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Toni Smith and Linda Cochran; brothers-in-law Steve Matthias and Tim Matthias; and lifelong friend Judy Baumgartner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband John Lewis, second husband David Matthias, and stepdaughter Lori.
Funeral services for Diane will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday November 25, 2025, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service.
Private burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne at a later date.
