Geneva Beard Veillon, 95, of Westlake, passed away peacefully on Monday August 5, 2024 at a local care facility with her family at her side.
Geneva was a native of Oberlin and a longtime resident of Westlake. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church.
Preceding Geneva in death are her parents, Cleveland and Ollie Darbonne Beard; beloved husband of 51 years, Lina J. Veillon and her brothers, Cleveland Beard, Jr. and Phillip Beard.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her children, Charlotte Colosky and husband Michael of San Angelo, Texas and David Veillon and wife Karen of Georgetown, Texas; sisters in law, Barbara Beard, Elton and Regina Beard, Oberlin; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, and will continue on Thursday August 8 at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM with Father Jenesh Joseph officiating. Graveside Committal Services will follow at 1:00 PM at Oaklin Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Oberlin.
