Genevieve Stefankiewicz

Genevieve F. Stefankiewicz (Jean) nee Murphy passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by her beloved children.
Born in 1948 and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, Jean was the cherished daughter of Genevieve and Thomas Murphy. She graduated from West Catholic High School in 1966.
In 1971, Jean met Richard Stefankiewicz, and they married in 1972. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage and raised four children: Rich (Kelly), Tricia, John (Emily), and Reenie (Joe) Renz. Jean was a devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Evelyn, Henry, Kylie, Joey, Ryan, Jacob, and Luke.
Jean dedicated many years to raising her children before joining QVC, where she worked in various departments until the call center's closure in 2009. She later joined the Delaware County Domestic Relations department in 2013, where she worked until her retirement due to a diagnosis of bile duct cancer. Jean encouraged anyone experiencing lower intestinal or right-sided abdominal pain to seek medical attention, sharing this message for the well-being of others.
Jean had a passion for old classic films from the 1930s and 1940s and was especially fond of Motown music. She was a dedicated sports fan, enjoying Penn State and Notre Dame football, but above all, she was a loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles.
A longtime member of St. George's Parish since 1973, Jean loved spending time with her family and being part of her community.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 9:00-10:30am at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036.
Funeral Mass11am Wednesday at St. George's Catholic Church, Lamont Avenue, Glenolden, PA.
Interment will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
