I am SO sorry, to hear about Geoff´s passing....Im an old high school friend, and hadn´t seen him in years, because I moved away from Lancaster, too...
But in the few short years of high school, we were definitely in a tight circle of friends. We did quite a bit of "stupid teenager stuff", but we all looked after each other. "Jeff" as we knew him back then, was "usually" the voice of reason!
He was kind, gentle, and had an absolutely hilarious sense of humor! In fact, his Stepfather, Steve, had a really nice, Porsche 928s, back then.. After the movie, "Ferris Bueller´s Day Off", came out, we all "ribbed" Jeff about having a similar day, with that car...
His answer, was always clear, and decisive...
"Uh, yeah, but...That Ain´t EVER Happening." And it never did. I´m sure that Steve and Pam (his Mom) appreciated that! They raised him very well!
And that´s just ONE reflection that I have, about this wonderful, kind, gentle BEAR of a Man. He really could make anyone smile, with just a simple gesture, laugh, or an "eye squint", (which usually happened when he was laughing, and we did a LOT of that!). Jeff was truly, One of a Kind!!
I had the benefit of knowing him, as a teenager.. That was a while back, and I never got to meet his wife, Pam...but I hope to, someday....my absolute condolences to HER. I know she feels a loss, that cannot be healed...I´m so sorry, Pam.
I have a lot of great memories of "young Jeff". He was a great friend, and human being, even waay back then. As an old friend, my heart breaks, too.
But I am thankful, and blessed, to have had a brief friendship with Jeff...he was "something else"....and I am glad to have known him...I will miss him, dearly, until we meet again - on the "other side"...
