George David Alexander was born July 8, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee to Dave Madison Alexander and Ida Mary Alexander. Both parents preceded him in death. George entered his eternal rest on September 17, 2022. He was the oldest of three children.
George loved the Lord, his family, and music. He accepted Christ at a very early age and would become a member of Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
George Alexander's love for music began as an infant. He started playing drums at the early age of two and would later learn to play the piano and other instruments.
In 1960 he graduated from Cameron High School in Nashville. After high school, he attended Tennessee State University, receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics in 1966.
After graduating from TSU, George went to work as a statistician at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland for over forty years. He had numerous accolades, certificates, and promotions during his tenure.
In July of 1967, George married Loistine Hurst Alexander who preceded him in death. Two sons were born from this union, David Howard Alexander and Aaron Gordon Alexander.
George Alexander relocated to Newark, Delaware with his wife and joined Simpson United Methodist Church, where his singing manifested itself into a powerful ministry for the Lord. While at Simpson he was President of The Covington Ensemble, a member of The Men of Simpson, The Senior Choir (Chancel Choir), Trustee Committee, Finance Committee, Men's Ministry, and the Building Fund Committee.
George enjoyed traveling, cooking, and having a good time. Over the years, he was very competitive in many sports and especially at darts. He was a member of the American Darters Association and played in many competitions all over the United States.
George David Alexander will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His love of life and service will leave a void in all of our lives.
He leaves a legacy of love to his devoted children David (Ruth) Alexander and Aaron Alexander; devoted grandchild Ryan Shirley; sisters Lora Alexander and Willie Alexander of Nashville, TN; niece Tamna (Wayne) Settles of Nashville, TN; great nieces and nephews Atsaria Cohnes, William Taylor, Alexandria, Anaya, Ira III, and Uriah Settles of Nashville, TN; aunt Georgia Lee Alexander of Murfreesboro, TN; devoted friend Dorotheia Hilton; and numerous family and friends.

David, Aaron and the Alexander Family,

You have my heartfelt sympathy as you grieve the loss of your loved one. I was very young when George married my cousin, Lois. He always had me giggling. He always had a smile for me. I know you will miss him. May you find peace and comfort in your memories. His spirit lives on in David and Aaron.

Kathy and I are so very saddened to hear of George´s passing. I worked with George for most of my government career at APG. He was one of our best employees at AMSAA. He was an outstanding worker and was always willing to help. Additionally he was a great mentor for many of our younger employees. George had an infectious personality and was loved my everyone he met. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. Rest In Peace my dear friend
