SHEILA GRAHAM-SAYLOR
Our Dear Sheila Graham-Saylor, born on Saturday, September 15, 1956, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born to the union of Roscoe B. Graham & Ramona High-Graham in Philadelphia PA She spent the days of her youth in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. During her adult season she resided in Darby, PA until condo living called her to Wilmington, De.
Sheila was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Darby and served as the Treasurer for over 20 years. She joined the church in 1993 when Rev. David D. Lee was pastoring, now under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Raymond Merriweather where she has chaired several Family and Friends days as well as graduating from Evangelism training.
Sheila was multi-talented and had a wealth of knowledge. She attended Tennessee State University and graduated from Stockton State College and Cosmetology School. Once gaining her license for cosmetology instruction, she was owner operator of her own beauty and barbershop on Fern St in Darby PA known as Super Stars. She acquired a degree in Business Administration as well as a Dental Specialist Certification with a concentration in infectious prevention and control. Earning the acronyms BA, DA, DISIPC, & CDIPC behind her name.
During her time here with us, our sweet Sheila was no stranger to hard work. At times she held as many as three jobs.
Her employment journey covered a vast variety of positions. She was employed as a Dental Operations Manager for GPHA for 11 years. She also held the position of Public Health Treatment Program Administrator for the State of Delaware. A few other part time jobs were Hair Affair in Pleasantville NJ while at Stockton State College and in later years she worked at Home Depot, European Wax Center, and Total Wine.
Travel, Dining, Live Shows were all passions of hers. Despite her slender physique she really loved to partake in culinary delights and Chardonnay. World travel with friends as well as her sister Tanya were of great enjoyment to her. Over the years her travel included many Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy (twice). She loved to read and was a member of a local book club with friends.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe B. Graham and her mother, Ramona High-Graham.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory; two sisters Tanya A. Nurse, Raleigh NC , Rene E. Graham, Mesa AZ, nephew Clarence B. Nurse (Helen) Brooklyn NY; two very close cousins who were more like a niece and a brother to her Kimberly Little (Brian) Egg Harbor Twp NJ, Fred Howard Jr. (Kim) Ardmore PA; sister friend Linda Lomax, Claymont DE and BFF Dr. Arnell Lloyd, Yeadon PA. There is a host of extended family, friends and co-workers. She had a special love for 6 young family members. She never missed acknowledging her love for them on birthdays, Christmas, and special occasions. Tanya’s three grandchildren, Savannah, Clarence, Safiyah Nurse, also Kim and Brian’s three children, Samiyah, Sabrina, and Brian Little Jr.
Sheila was a gift from God and lived an amazing life. Her smile was infectious and would brighten your day…. Until we meet again!
