George Larry Appling Jr.

George Larry Appling Jr. passed away September 12th, 2021, in Marietta, Georgia at the age of 59. He was acclaimed as a hard-working and loving father, brother, and friend.
Born in 1962, in Charlotte, NC, to George Appling Sr. and Mary Ellen Stutts Appling, "Larry" spent his childhood with his 4 brothers: Jeffery "Jeff" Appling, Jon Appling, David Williams, and Clay Williams. During this time, Larry became a skilled fisherman/hunter, and developed a lifelong attachment to the outdoors that he would happily pass on to others.
He thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands and had a very successful career as a Project Superintendent, working with various reputable construction companies. Across his work history, his fellow colleagues would describe him as a problem-solver, a leader, and a friend. He was deeply respected and loved by all those that had the pleasure of being close to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Appling and his brother, Jeff Appling. He is survived by his two sons, Dalton Appling, Christopher Appling. He leaves behind his three brothers: Jon, David, and Clay. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
On September 18th, the family will receive friends from 11:00-12:30p.m., followed by the memorial service at the Marietta Funeral Home and Crematory on Piedmont. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 915 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, GA 30066.
